Studio Osk is a young and energetic design studio operating within the fields of urbanism, art and design. Striving to be facilitators of social change, Osk adopt a collaborative approach to all their projects, working closely with artists, builders, social planners, teachers, writers and entrepreneurs.
"We are exploring the disjunction between the natural and the man made.
These works are an examination of the combination of pure geometric space and organic surrounds and vice versa. They are an examination of the revelations that occur to the viewer who is engaging and interacting with this contrast.
We aim to reveal the surreal-ness inherent within both of these states (pure geometry and the 'natural environment') by bringing them together, highlighting and dissolving preconceived ideals of their inherent values.
Is pure geometry a thing of beauty or a cold, hard-edged human construct, robbing us of our ties to the natural world? Is our tendency toward a romantic view of the natural environment some kind of nostalgic hang up, irrelevant in todays mechanized world?"
