Dear Patti Smith presents a speculation space for temporal contemporary exhibition practices, art events and artist development, offering artists and arts collectives the opportunity to utilize gallery conditions for practice development projects.
INFORMATION:
-Proposals for our exhibition program, project space and venue hire may be submitted at any time and we encourage artists, writers, curators, individuals and collectives to apply.
-Fees
Please contact us for a quotation.
-Proposals may be for a broad scope of activities, including but not limited to: a performance, audiovisual project, rehearsals, forums, workshops, a research project, or artist set-up and documentation.
-Proposals may be from an individual or group. Group proposals are encouraged.
-Priority will be given to projects supporting emerging and developing artist practices.
-Preference will be given to contemporary art practices that are experimenting, taking risks and critically engaged.

Project Details
In order to present us with a clear description of your proposed project, please consider the following:
- the space/s you are proposing to use
- will DPS gallery equipment be required?
- will you require the support of DPS staff? In what capacity?
- how many people do you intend to be involved and/or as audience?
- will this entail a public event? If so is this by invitation or open door?
- the duration of the project, and the hours required including install and de-install (if applicable)
- date/s required (please indicate if these dates are fixed or flexible)
Artist Practice (50-200 words)
Please include with your application a brief outline of your artistic practice or participation in the arts, and the relationship of this project within the oeuvre and development of that practice.
